A well-designed aquarium requires much more consideration than simply selecting beautiful fish. Aquarium owners may develop enthusiasm for specific species or habitats, rearing baby fish, or growing live plants; but all the while, each species must remain in proper balance within the aquarium's ecosystem. If you have an eye for exotic species, elaborate decorations, or custom cabinetry we can accommodate that, too.
Some spaces lend themselves to corner or peninsula-style layouts rather than typical wall locations, and the size and style of your aquarium should enhance your existing decor. You may also have specific safety concerns for your family or clientele. In order to fully anticipate and address these types of design elements, a phone call is often not enough — we prefer on-site consultations to serve our clients best.
We begin by obtaining basic information about your interests during a free on-site consultation. We then continue through the process by gathering equipment, décor, and livestock. The equipment is assembled and tested in advance to minimize the likelihood of any unforeseen complications, and installation is scheduled at our client’s convenience—to minimize disruption in your home or business.
We strive to make your aquarium a unique experience, both for you as an owner and for your visitors. We can provide themed coloring sheets, photo identification charts, and information books to further engage and entertain visitors. We also love enhancing aquariums with custom decor to fit your business or lifestyle and can even build artificial liverock to make unique structures in saltwater reef tanks.
Since equipment is assembled and tested ahead of time, installation can usually be done overnight or in a matter of a few hours, but this is not the case for all systems. The color, movement, and diversity of life in coral reef tanks is breathtaking, but these delicate ecosystems take more time to get established properly. If you are interested in a saltwater reef tank, we firmly believe that slow and steady wins the race for a healthy thriving tank. We will discuss the wide range of corals and invertebrates available and map out a plan to make your reef bloom with life!
Since aquarium maintenance is the bulk of our business, our mark-ups on equipment and livestock are minimal. We pride ourselves on providing fully installed aquariums for little more than you would pay to purchase boxed equipment from a commercial retailer.
If you have a specific budget for the setup of your aquarium we have pre-priced packages for popular aquarium sizes to aid you in the design process. Please ask about our current setup specials for savings on your new aquarium installation.
Standard sized glass tanks come in sizes up to 210 gallons (72” width). Custom acrylic tanks are available through local fabricators at their pricing.
